Will your successful Internet business be a casualty of your divorce, or other life crisis?
Getting divorced, health issues, or loss of a family member is stressful enough! There are so many things to consider and keep track of during this highly emotional time in your life:
- Meeting with attorneys,
- Talking to financial advisors,
- Seeing mediators, therapists
- Making sure the kids are OK
Not to mention time for yourself to grieve or process…
With all of that going on how will you find time to ALSO keep your clients happy and do all of the other things you have to do to run your business??
The truth is:
Divorce, or going through a difficult life experience can take many things away from you. You don’t have to let your business be one of them.
There is SO much to think about when you are going through a divorce or life transition and if you are running a successful business on top of that, it can be really overwhelming. There are so many moving parts. Keeping all of those balls in the air takes a tremendous amount of energy and your business must also keep moving forward so that you can support yourself and your children.
Will you have to give up on your dream and go get a J-O-B?
Not if you get some help. But not just any kind of help – Someone who understands how to run and support a high end online business and who also understands how you feel.
I am Janet DaPirano and I get it. I get the fear, the exhaustion and the overwhelm AND I know that it is no accident that you landed here on my website, because you need help.
I get it because I have been where you are.
I was married for 17 years. Like many couples we had our ups and downs. But when I started my online business, things began to go south. I didn’t have my then-husband’s full support. He viewed my dream as a big financial risk that might not work out anyway. He had come to rely on the income of my full time job, but I believed that I would still contribute financially as my business became successful.
In the back of my mind, though, I knew without his support, I would never achieve the kind of success I was looking for. My business became the last straw in a marriage that was going downhill from allright to not so much. I tried to make it all work, but I was exhausted and depression set in. That’s when I made the difficult decision to leave my marriage.
Then all hell broke loose! All kinds of unexpected emotions and insecurities surfaced. How was I going to support my kids now? How was I going to afford an attorney? How can I afford the mortgage payment all by myself? How was I going to be able to get to my appointments and take care of my business, my kids and myself? Maybe I should just bet a JOB. It was stressful and overwhelming.
The one thing I knew was that I would do anything to keep my kids in their home and feeling secure. My own needs didn’t even cross my mind, and the dream of having my own business was becoming a faded memory.

But I decided I was NOT going to give up on me – I was NOT giving up on my dream. So, In spite of it all – the appointments, the challenges, the fears, the exhaustion and the tears-, I persevered. Yes, in spite of everything that comes with running a business AND getting a divorce at the same time, I succeeded!
My business is still growing today and I’m so grateful for that. I have the best clients and I love working with them. I am paying my mortgage, my kids are happy, and the best part is – I didn’t have to give up my dream!
Since that time, I realized that during the divorce what I really needed was someone who could help me who “got” what I was going through and who understood my online business and what it really needed. It needed streamlining to save time, reduce my stress and still keep the money flowing in. It would have been awesome to also have a hotline that I could call and ask a quick question and get a solid answer.
About the same time my own marriage ended, a friend of mine was also going through a divorce. She had a 6 figure internet business. The operative word is HAD. Because she had no support and didn’t have the bandwidth to create the systems I could knock out in my sleep, her 6 figure business completely tanked
When I told her what I had created as a result of my own situation she said “Janet, I wish I had you to help me. Then I wouldn’t have lost my dream.”
I don’t want you to ever have to say “I wish I had.”
